about me

Lela Fig is a small-scale, slow-made business where every item is crafted by hand with care, patience, and a deep love for the craft.

My name is Daniela, and I’m a proud Mexican-American woman, daughter of immigrants, living in Tucson, Arizona. My cultural heritage and upbringing shape the way I approach my work. I take pride in learning new techniques, testing designs, and experimenting with materials—each item reflects my growth as an artisan and as a person. Some pieces take months to perfect, while others come to life in a spontaneous burst of creativity. But every detail, every decision, is intentional.

In my work, I embrace the beauty of imperfection. The slight variations, the marks of the hand, and the quirks that come from working with natural materials—they’re not flaws, they’re what make my creations special. I believe these unique characteristics give handmade goods their soul and authenticity.

By supporting my small business, you’re not only purchasing a product, but you’re also supporting a process rooted in slow-making and a passion for creating. Thank you for being a part of my journey. I hope the items I create bring warmth, character, and a little bit of joy into your life.
