general DISCLAIMERS
Glaze and Color Variations: Due to the nature of the glazing process, colors and finishes may vary slightly between firings. Some pieces may have subtle variations in texture or glaze coverage, which is a normal part of handmade pottery. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same, even when the design is repeated.
Food and Drink Safe Pottery: Most of my pottery is designed to be food-safe and suitable for everyday use, including mugs, plates, and bowls. However, please check the product description to confirm whether an item is specifically labeled as food-safe. All food-safe pottery is made with non-toxic glazes and materials, but please avoid using items that are not labeled for food use for consumption purposes.
Handcrafted Imperfections: Handmade pottery is not perfect by industrial standards, and small imperfections such as tiny bubbles, pinholes, or glaze runs may be present. These are not defects but are natural and unique marks of handmade craftsmanship. These imperfections add to the charm and individuality of each piece.
Firing and Temperature Variations: Pottery is fired at high temperatures, and some items may be more sensitive to extreme changes in temperature. Do not expose your pottery to sudden temperature shifts (such as placing a hot item in cold water or putting a cold item in a hot oven) as this may cause cracking. Always allow pottery to cool down gradually and avoid thermal shock.
To prolong the life of your pottery:
Hand wash your pottery whenever possible to maintain its glaze and prevent damage.
Avoid abrasive sponges or scrubbers that could scratch the surface.
Use gentle soap to clean, and avoid harsh chemicals or dishwasher cycles (unless the item is labeled as dishwasher-safe).
Store pottery carefully to avoid accidental chipping or cracking.
Microwave and Dishwasher Safety: Not all pottery is microwave or dishwasher safe. Please refer to the product description for specific care guidelines. Pottery with certain finishes or delicate glazes may not withstand high heat or intense washing cycles, so it's best to hand wash and handle with care.
Cracks and Chips: Minor cracks or chips that occur naturally during the firing process are a normal part of handmade pottery and should not be considered flaws. However, if your pottery arrives with a crack or chip that affects its usability, please contact me immediately for a replacement or refund.
Pottery Intended for Decorative Use: Some pottery items, such as decorative vases or art pieces, are not designed for functional use. If you purchase a piece for decoration, it may not be food-safe or suitable for holding liquids. Please refer to the product description to ensure it meets your needs.
Shipping and Handling: Pottery is fragile and may require extra care during shipping. I take great care in packaging your pottery to ensure it arrives safely, but please inspect the item immediately upon receipt. If it arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours with photos of the damage, and I’ll be happy to assist with a replacement or refund.
Limitations of Handmade Pottery: Because pottery is handmade in small batches, please understand that some items may have slight imperfections or inconsistencies in glaze and finish. These quirks are what make each piece unique and give them their character. If you're seeking perfect symmetry or mass-manufactured precision, handmade pottery may not be the right choice for you.
